Solution

The correct option is B III and IV
Prop roots that are seen hanging in banyan trees provide support to these plants.

Sugarcane and maize have stilt roots. These are short but thick supporting roots which develop obliquely from the basal nodes of the stem.

In plants growing in swampy areas, roots come out of the ground and grow vertically upwards to provide oxygen for the plant growth. These types of roots are called pneumatophores, which are seen in Rhizophora.

A taproot system is observed in turnips and carrots, whereas, in sweet potato, adventitious roots are seen. Both the taproot and adventitious roots help in the storage of food materials in these plants and are hence swollen.

Hence, the only correct options are III and IV.
