I. Nitric oxide acts both as an oxidising as well as a reducing agent while all other nitrogen oxide acts as oxidising agents only.

II. N2O5 with alkalies gives nitrates. Example:
N2O5+2NaOH2NaNO3+H2O

III. The moisture present in ammonia may be removed by passing through a glass tower backed with quick lime, CaO. It forms a complex with anhydrous CaCl2.

IV. With excess of Cl2, nitrogen trichloride and hydrogen chloride are formed.
