1) Pars intermedia forms the boundary between the anterior and posterior lobes of the pituitary gland. It produces melanocyte-stimulating hormone or MSH which stimulates the release of melanin pigment in skin melanocytes.
2) Leydig cells are found in the testicle. They produce testosterone in the presence of luteinizing hormone (LH).
3) Pineal gland is an endocrine gland found in the brain. It produces and secretes melatonin that helps to regulate biological rhythms.
4) Myxoedema is a term used for severe hypothyroidism. It is a condition that occurs when very litlle amount of thyroxine is produced.
5) The posterior pituitary or neurohypophysis is the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland. It secretes two hormones: oxytocin and antidiuretic hormone or vasopressin. ACTH is secreted by anterior pituitary glands.
