Secondary growth does not usually occur in monocotyledons as they lack lateral or secondary cambium and if it does occur it is termed as anomalous growth as in Dracena. Hence, statement 1 is incorrect
Bark refers to all the tissues formed by the cork cambium or the phellogen a meristematic tissue formed by the dedifferentiation of cortical cells. The phellogen produces phellum - differentiated as suberised dead cells to the exterior and phelloderm or secondary cortex, Since, all these tissues emerge from the cortical cells, these are exterior to the vascular bundle, hence statement 2 is incorrect.
So, the correct answer is '(i) and (ii) only'
