Which of the following statements are not true?
(i) Every whole number is a rational number.
(ii) Every integer is a rational number.
(iii) 0 is a whole number but it is not a rational number.
Any rational number can be expressed in the form of pq. So, every whole number 0, 1, 2, 3.....so on, can be expressed in the form of a rational number by taking 1 as the denominator[01, 11, 21]. For integers, ...... -2, -1, 0, 1, 2,..... we can take 1 as the denominator and they can be expressed in the form of a rational number[−21,−11, 01,11,21]. Hence, (i) and (ii) are correct and (iii) is incorrect .
