Which of the following statements are true ?
(i) All cubes are cuboids.
(ii) All cuboids are cubes.
(iii) A cube has 6 faces, 8 vertices and 12 edges.
(iv) A cube has 8 faces, 12 vertices and 6 edges.
(i) and (iii)
A cube is a pile of squares whereas a cuboid is a pile of rectangles. Every square is a rectangle with equal dimensions, therefore every cube is a cuboid with equal dimensions. Therefore, statement (i) is true and statement (ii) is false.
The figure given below represents a cube. The vertices are highlighted with yellow circles which are 8 in number, the edges are highlighted with red lines which are 12 in number and the faces are 6 in number which are black in colour.
Hence statement (iii) is true and statement (iv) is false.
Hence the answer.
