Solution

The correct option is D (i), (ii) and (iii)
i) The 1947 Indian Independence Act is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new independent dominions of India and Pakistan. It permitted the Princely States to remain independent. ii) Sardar Vallabhai Patel was a lawyer and influential political leader in the Indian independence movement. He was important in the integration of over 500 princely states into the Indian Union. Sardar Vallabhai Patel persuaded the princes of 565 states for the Indian Union after Independence. iii) The Instrument of Accession was a legal document first introduced by the Government of India Act 1935 and used in 1947 to enable each of the rulers of the princely states under British paramountcy to join one of the new dominions of India. Junagarh, Hyderabad and Kashmir did not sign the Instruement of Accession.
