Sher Shah Suri defeated the Mughal emperor Humayun and assumed the royal title of Farid al-Din Sher Shah. After consolidating their forces for a year, the armies met once again at the battle of Kannauj in May 1940. Sher Shah Suri defeated Humayun and became the master of Agra and Delhi.
