Scientific name of Kangaroo is Macropus. It is a marsupial from the family Macropodidae. They are endemic to Australia. They are also found in Tasmania as well as on surrounding islands. All metatherian mammals contains abdominal pouch called as marsupium in which young one complete post-natal development. External ear or pinna is present in Macropus species. In Macropous, true placenta is absent rather they have placenta-like structure.
