Transfer RNA (tRNA) is also called as adapter molecule or soluble RNA.

It constitutes about 15% of the total RNA.

It is the smallest RNA with the lowest molecular weight than mRNA or rRNA.

It carries amino acids from the cytoplasm to ribosomes (site of protein synthesis) and uses anticodons to pair with the codons on the mRNA for protein synthesis.

There is at least one tRNA for each of the amino acids. Some amino acids can be picked up by 2- 6 tRNAs.
