Solution

The correct option is B 1 and 2

The nucleus of the functional megaspore divides repeatedly to ultimately form 8 daughter nuclei, four of which are located at each pole. One nucleus from each pole migrates to the centre to form two polar nuclei that further fuse to form a diploid secondary nucleus. Three nuclei at the chalazal end of the embryo form the antipodal cells. The remaining three nuclei at the micropylar end get surrounded by cytoplasm to form egg apparatus, which consists of two cells of synergids and one egg or oosphere in the middle. Synergid cells bear the filiform apparatus that aids the synergids in the transport of materials into the embryo sac and guides the pollen tube into the embryo sac.

Out of two male gametes one fuses with egg (syngamy) to perform generative fertilisation which gives rise to a diploid (2n) zygote.

The second male gamete fuses with the diploid secondary nucleus of the central cell to form a triploid (3n) primary endosperm nucleus (PEN).

Synergid cells are haploid (n) nature.
