Solution

The correct options are
A It occurs due to rotation of the Earth on its axis.
C It causes the winds blowing in the northern hemisphere to deflect to the right and the winds blowing in the southern hemisphere to deflect to the left.
Coriolis effect occurs due to rotation of the Earth on its axis. Due to Earth's rotation, the winds blowing in the northern hemisphere deflect towards the right and that in the southern hemisphere deflect towards the left. This effect causes the winds blowing over the Equator to move towards the right and enter India. So, it is the reason for the southwest monsoon in India.
