If speed is constant, then its velocity also must be constant.


If an object is at rest, its speed is zero. Also, the velocity of the body is zero.

The average velocity of a moving object can be zero if the displacement is zero. Whereas the average speed is not zero.

It is not necessary for velocity to be constant even if its speed is constant because speed just gives the magnitude but velocity also depends on the direction of motion. So, if a body is changing its direction without changing its speed, then its velocity will change.

If the velocity of an object is constant, then its magnitude i.e. speed is same every instant and the body is travelling in the same direction.
