Pitt's India Act, was an Act of the Parliament of Great Britain intended to address the shortcomings of the Regulating Act of 1773. It was named after William Pitt the Prime Minister of Britain at that time. With the Pitt's India Act, the East India Company's political functions were separated from its commercial functions. A Board of Commissioners for the Affairs of India called Board of Control was created.
