  • It is dissacharide which is formed by the linkage of fructose and glucose.
  • The anomeric carbons C1 of the glucose and C2of fructose are linked by glycosidic bonds so they lack hemiacetal group nor a hemiketal group.
  • Thus, they cannot be oxidised by a weak oxidising agent. So, the are stable and are non-reducing sugar.
  • So, the correct answer is option D.
