  • We do not hear sound of explosions from Sun as there is no medium in between the earth and the sun.
  • Due to the same reason, a bell ringing inside a vacuumed jar can not be heard.
  • If we put one ear on an iron rod and hit on the rod, we hear two sounds. One sound of the hit comes through air and another through iron rod. Sound travels faster through solid. So, sound through iron rod will be heard first followed by the sound through air.
