Prokaryotes lack membrane bound organelles such as a nucleus due to which the process of transcription and translation can occur simultaneously.

During protein synthesis, the amino acids are activated. Followed by which the amino acid is attached to the specific tRNA molecule at 3' end. This process is called charging of tRNA or aminoacylation of tRNA.

Region on mRNA in which the codons are not translated are called untranslated region or UTR. UTRs are present at both the ends of the mRNA - 5’ and 3’ end. They improve the efficiency of translation.
