Which of the following strategies is not a correct approach to reduce global warming?
Global warming is the warming/heating up of the earth’s atmosphere due to an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Major pollutants responsible for the depletion are chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons. CFCs are one of the greenhouse gases, and are also widely used as coolants in air conditioners and refrigerators, cleaning solvents, aerosol propellants and in foam insulation. It is also used in the fire extinguishing equipments. On escaping to the stratosphere, it causes depletion or thinning of protective ozone layer, resulting in direct and indirect harmful effects leading to temperature changes and rainfall failures on earth. So, decreasing the use of air conditioners, jet planes, greenhouse gases, etc. or developing substitutes for CFCs can help reduce global warming.
