Which of the following strategies is not a correct approach to reduce global warming?
Global warming is the warming or heating up of the Earth’s atmosphere due to an increase in the number of greenhouse gases. Major pollutants responsible for the greenhouse effect are chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons. CFC is one of the greenhouse gases, and is also widely used as coolant in air conditioners and refrigerators, cleaning solvents, aerosol propellants and in foam insulation. It is also used in the fire extinguishing equipment. On escaping to the stratosphere, it causes depletion or thinning of the protective ozone layer, resulting in direct and indirect harmful effects leading to temperature changes and rainfall failures on earth. So, decreasing the use of air conditioners, jet planes, greenhouse gases, etc. or developing substitutes for CFCs can help reduce global warming.
