Mitochondria and chloroplasts are semi autonomous cell organelles since they possess their own DNA and ribosomes. In animal cells, mitochondria have their own DNA and ribosomes.Although mitochondria and chloroplasts are membrane bound organelles, ribosomes are membraneless organelles. Ribosomes also do not produce ATP like mitochondria and chloroplasts and they do not produce carbohydrates.
