Dentist drill holes in teeth by driller.The driller rotates the needle in tooth outer part and friction is generated between needle and tooth .And due to this rubbing the tooth upper layers shed out and inner part become visible.

A car also need friction on road to move because the friction from ground acting on wheels provides forward force required for motion of car.
