There were many political administrative and economic causes of the revolt of 1857. Some of them were Doctrine of lapse, Subsidiary Alliance system, annexation policy, etc. Jallianwala Bagh incident did not happen before 1857. It took place on 13 April 1919 when troops of the British Indian Army under the command of General Dyer fired rifles into a crowd of Baisakhi pilgrims, who had gathered in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab.
