Solution

The correct option is C

Blockage in both the fallopian tubes

Out of the two ovaries present in the female reproductive system, ideally one releases an ovum in a monthly cycle. Therefore, even a woman with only one functional ovary can get pregnant. There have even been cases reported wherein women with only one functional ovary and fallopian tube (on the same side) became pregnant. Normally, a woman would have two functional ovaries and fallopian tubes - one pair (ovary + fallopian tube) on either side. The egg released in the abdominal cavity is sucked up by the fimbriae into the fallopian tube. It then passes through the fallopian tube to reach the uterus. If both the tubes are blocked, the egg cannot get implanted in the uterus, hence pregnancy cannot occur.
