Only a substance at higher temperature will be able to raise temperature of water at 30oC so, option (B) and (C) are rejected.
A) When 20g of water at 40oC is added then, from principle of calorimetry
Heat lost =Heat gained
20×1×(40T)=20×1×(T30)
800+600=40TT=140040=350C
So, this raise temperature by 5oC

D) when 4g added water at 80oC is added then
heat lost =heat gained
4×1×(80T)=20×1×(T30)
920=24TT=38.30C
So, this raise the temprature by 8.3oC
