Solution

The correct option is C It contains two σ, two π bonds and one lone pair of electrons
The sulphur dioxide molecule contains 2σ,2π bonds and one lone pair of electrons. S atom contains 6 valence electrons out of which it shares 2 electrons with 2 O atoms to form 2 sigma bonds. It also shares 2 electrons with 2 O atoms to form π bonds. The remaining 2 electrons appear as lone pair of electrons. SO2 molecule has bent geometry. The S atom undergoes sp2 hybridization.
