Which of the two diffuses faster : a liquid or a gas ?

It's gas which diffuses faster .Because ,in liquid it takes some time to diffuse with solids or gas .But in the case of gas it's very fast .Example-the smoke(poisonous gas) from factories diffuses very fast in our atmosphere ,and it causes many problem .

The intermolecular spaces between the particles are largest in a gas, because of which they move randomly with very high speeds. Hence a gas diffuses faster than a liquid.
