Which of the two wires of similar dimension, copper or nichrome, would you use for an electric heater. Give reasons to justify your answer.

  1. We use high resistance wire in an electric heater. In given conditions, nichrome has high resistance as compared to copper that's why we use nichrome instead of copper.
  2. If we use a copper wire in an electric heater. It allows a large amount of current to pass through the wire, due to a large amount of current it produces heat through the fuse connected with the heater which causes the melting of the wire and diffusing of the circuit.
