We use high resistance wire in an electric heater. In given conditions, nichrome has high resistance as compared to copper that's why we use nichrome instead of copper.
If we use a copper wire in an electric heater. It allows a large amount of current to pass through the wire, due to a large amount of current it produces heat through the fuse connected with the heater which causes the melting of the wire and diffusing of the circuit.
