Arun prefers the stranger to Satish’s mother. The stranger is kind and amiable. She gave him food and sweets. She showed faith in him time and again by saying that she believed Arun was responsible enough to travel all alone. Satish’s mother was a complete contrast. She had a critical and overbearing attitude, and did not show much faith in either Arun or her own son’s sense of responsibility.
