Which of these are used to diagnose allergies?
Blood Test
The main types of allergy tests are skin tests, scratch tests and blood tests. In scratch or skin test, the doctor or nurse will put a tiny bit of allergen (like pollen or food) on the skin, then prick the outer layer of skin or make a small scratch on the skin. Whereas blood tests measure the concentration of IgE antibodies for specific food. IgE, short for “immunoglobulin E,” is the antibody that triggers food allergy symptoms.
