Solution
The correct option is B Wind energy
Dams play an important role in the production of hydroelectric power. Water stored in huge reservoirs is used to rotate the blades of turbines that generate electricity. The construction of dams is expensive and therefore not economic. For setting up dams, large space is required which necessitates the removal of trees. Moreover, the reservoirs of dams emit greenhouse gases like methane. They also disrupt the river ecosystem and affect the species.
Many alternative sources of energy are there for electricity generation other than the hydroelectric power plants on dams. Some of which are solar energy, wind energy, and biogas energy.
