Spinning a Newton's disc, i.e. a disc with 7 equal segments coloured the 7 colours of a rainbow, makes the disc look almost white proving that light is a spectrum.
Holding a screen against a glass prism or looking at petrol floating on water in a lit environment, we can see the light being dispersed.
