Electrons produced in the mitochondrial matrix from NADH are transferred through FMN and Fe-S centers to ubiquinone present in the inner membrane.
Then the electrons are transferred from reduced ubiquinone to cytochrome c via cytochrome b and c1 complex (complex III). Cyt c acts as a carrier between complex III and IV.
The electrons from cyt c reaches complex IV which contains two copper centres cyt a and cyt a3.
Although oxygen is the final electron acceptor in ETC but among the options given cyt a3 can be regarded as the last electron acceptor.
