Stereochemistry in nucleophilic substitution reaction arises due to presence of a chiral carbon in compound.
SN1 reaction of an optically active halide is accompanied by racemization and it give equimolar mixture of d and l forms of an optically active compound.

Only compound (b) has chiral carbon. Hence, it gives racemic product during SN1 reaction.
