A is an exterior angle, its measure is equal to the sum of the measures of the 2 interior angles to which it is not adjacent, namely, x and y.

So, A = x + y ----------------------------------------------------- (1)

Adding z to both the sides of the equation,

A + z = x + y + z

Also, from (1) 2A > x + y
