Which one of the following is not a lateral meristem?
The meristem that occurs in the mature regions of roots and shoots of many plants and is responsible for producing the secondary tissues is called the secondary or lateral meristem. Intrafascicular cambium, interfascicular cambium and cork cambium (Phellogen) are examples of lateral meristems.
Intercalary meristem is the primary meristem at the base of the leaves or internodes(on either side of the node) on stem. The primary function of the intercalary meristem is to facilitate longitudinal growth of a plant organ, independent of activity of the apical meristem.
