Liverworts are non flowering plants without true roots, stems or leaves. These are bryophytes included in Kingdom Plantae. Ascomycetes, commonly known as sac fungi are included in Kingdom Fungi. Lichens are organisms formed by a symbiotic relationship between algae and fungi. They do not have roots for absorption of water like plants but prepare their own food by photosynthesis. These symbiotic relationships were not included in the Five Kingdom Classification.
