Pterygoid bones are two palatine bones extending downwards from each side of the sphenoid bone within the skull.
The arytenoid cartilages are a pair of small three-sided pyramids, which form part of the larynx, to which the vocal cords are attached. These allow and aid in the vocal cords movement.
The coracoid process is a small hook-like structure on the scapula (pectoral girdle). It together with the acromion process, serves to stabilize the shoulder joint.
The atlas is the topmost vertebra and with the axis forms the joint connecting the skull and spine.
