The correct option is C Upper antheridium and lower oogonium
Chara is a green alga, growing at the bottom of freshwater bodies, fixed to the substratum by means of multicellular rhizoids. It bears antheridia, called globules because of their round shape and archegonia, called as nucules, which are elongated oval-shaped structures. Both are usually borne on the same thallus and the globule is always lower whereas the nucule is upper in position. Thus, option c is the wrong statement about Chara and hence it is the correct answer.
