Solution
The correct option is C End products arc CO2 and H2O Glycolysis forms the first step of aerobic respiration in which glucose is broken down anaerobically to form two molecules of pyruvic acid. It is a 10 step process which takes place in the cytoplasm of cells. In the process, two ATP molecules are consumed in the first and third steps of glycolysis which help in the initiation of the process while 4 ATP molecules are generated in the sixth and ninth steps of glycolysis. In addition, 2 molecules of NADH are formed in step 5 of glycolysis by the acceptance of 2 protons and 4 electrons by two molecules of NAD+.
