In Palaemon, the hastate plate is present on the floor of the stomach. There are comb plates present below the hastate plate. There is a lateral groove which separates the hastate plate and comb plate. Each comb plate has a fringe of bristles. This bristles are directed inwards. There are thick plates which are present side-by-side on the floor of the ventral chamber. These are filter plates. They forms a filter which permits only the fluid to pass through it. There are pair of hepatopancreatic ducts will open into ventral pyloric stomach on the floor of the ventral chamber. This hepatopancreas lies around the stomach and serves like the liver and pancreas of the higher animals.
