Which one of the statement is correct? A parallel plate air condenser is connected with a battery. Its charge, potential, electric field and energy are $Q_{0}, V_{0}, E_{0}$ and $U_{0}$ respectively. In order to fill the complete space between the plates a dielectric slab is inserted, the battery is still connected. Now the corresponding values $Q, V, E$ and $U$ are in the relation with the initially stated as:

The correct option is D $U > U_{0}$
When a dielectric is introduced in the capacitor, the capacitance will be increased, but the potential difference will remain the same because the battery is still connected.

The charge is given as,

$Q = C V$

So, the charge will increase that means $Q > Q_{0}$ .

The energy is given as,

$U = \frac{1}{2} Q V$

So, the energy will increase that means $U > U_{0}$ .
