Voids are nothing but the empty spaces within the cube. In the case of the Rubik's cube, the entire cube is occupied by cubes of smaller sizes (assuming a perfect scenario) and there is absolutely no gap in between.
But in the second case, we see that an unknown fraction of the space within the cube is occupied by the spheres but the rest of it is unoccupied. This unoccupied space is referred to as the 'voids' in the cube.
But there is no name given to this void since it is not in any particular shape which is of scientific significance. You can give it a name of your own for fun!
