ETS in the mitochondria is the site of oxidative phosphorylation. It contains four complex system- complex I, complex II, complex III, complex IV. All the complexes are present in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Complexes transfer the electron from donor to acceptor via the redox reactions and couples this electron transfer with transfer of the proton (H+) ion across a membrane. Complex V is not the part of ETS. Complex V is also known as the ATP synthase. Complex V uses the energy created by the electrochemical gradient to phosphorylate ADP to ATP.
