Solution

The correct option is D E.R.
The sperm is a microscopic structure composed of a head, a middle piece and a tail. A plasma membrane envelops the whole body of a sperm. The sperm head contains an elongated haploid nucleus. The middle piece possesses numerous mitochondria, which produce energy for the movement of tail that facilitates sperm motility essential for fertilisation. Human eggs do not have centrioles while sperms do. So the sperm's centriole is absolutely essential for forming a centrosome which will form a spindle, enabling the first division of the zygote to take place. Endoplasmic reticulum is not present in human sperm.
