Golgi apparatus is primarily responsible for modifying, packaging and transporting proteins and lipid to targeted destinations. It is a membrane-bound organelle, which is mainly composed of a series of flattened, stacked pouches called cisternae. It is found within the cytoplasm of a cell and are present in both plant and animal cells.
