The Human Development Report (HDR) is an annual report published by the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) which includes topics on Human Development and the annual Human Development Index.

  1. UNDP works internationally to help countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  2. UNDP operates in 177 countries, where it works with local governments to develop local capacity and to meet development challenges.
  3. The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistic composite index of per capita income indicators , life expectancy, education (literacy rate, net attendance ratio, gross enrollment ratio at different levels) which are used to rank countries into four tiers of human development.
  4. The index is based on the human development approach, developed by Mahbub ul Haq.
  5. The index does not take into some factors, such as relative quality of goods in a country, the net wealth per capita.
