Which part of an atom was discovered by Rutherford?

Rutherford passed few $alpha$ particles through the gold foil. He observed that few rays deflected at some angle. And few passed through them. And 1 out of 120 rays deflected at 180 degrees. So he concluded that there are some positively charged particles in the centre of the nucleus and he named it as protons.
