Solution

The correct option is C Large intestine
The oesophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine are the parts of the alimentary canal.
Oesophagus or food pipe is a long and narrow tube which runs from the back of the throat to open into the stomach and the food moves down the oesophagus by peristalsis.
Stomach is a thick walled bag-like structure which receives food from oesophagus, digests the food and pushes it into the small intestine.
Small intestine is a long coiled tube which receives secretions from both the liver and the pancreas for further digestion of food.
The final stage of the undigested food is in the large intestine where the excess water and minerals are absorbed and undigested waste matter in the form of faeces reaches the rectum.
