Solution

Cataract:

  1. A cataract is an age-related disease characterized by the decrease of lens clarity caused by lens protein degradation.
  2. It generally causes hazy vision and foggy lenses, which can be fixed by substituting the old lens with an artificial lens.

Symptoms of cataract:

  1. The vision is clouded, hazy, or dull.
  2. Night vision is becoming increasingly challenging.
  3. Light and brightness sensitivity
  4. A stronger light is required for reading and other tasks.
  5. Changes in eyeglass prescription on a regular basis.

Prevention of cataracts:

  1. Wear sunglasses outside to protect your eyes from UV radiation.
  2. Maintain frequent eye checkups.
  3. Consume antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables.
  4. Keep a healthy weight.
  5. Control diabetes and other medical problems.

Treatment of cataracts:

  1. The surgical excision of the clouded lens is the only genuine therapy for cataracts.
  2. If the patient declines the ability to conduct critical daily activities such as driving, trying to read, or staring at computer or video screens, even with spectacles or eyewear, surgery is recommended, with the assumption that vision would improve as a consequence of the treatment.

Therefore, if a person is suffering from a cataract their eye lens gets affected.
