The number 1440 can be written as 1000+400+40.

So, calculating 1440÷36 using the box method, we get the following:


Adding the patial quotients together, we get, 20+10+10=40.

So, the final quotient of 1440÷36 is 40.

Hence, 1440÷36=40.

Comparing this to 1440÷36=45, we find that the incorrect value is 45.

But, the general form a division equation is Dividend÷Divisor=Quotient.
